Micro-Nation | Otherland

Welcome to Otherlands new website.
When I saw the first link on google about Micro-Nations I thought this is something that I could work on for the rest of my life. I understand that just about any issue raised can be addressed with legal gymnastics. My name i Daniel Ruul and I have been programming | Configuring all kinds of computers for over 30 years.
Why “Otherland”, many years ago I read the book “Otherland” by Tad Williams, Inside the book there was a Virtual Reality system called “Grail” where the owners of the system were going to transfer inside and become immortal. In my mind the problem of death is something I pondered, some people I shared this view point with didn't quite get the drift, one day we will just turn off. I wondered why there wasn't some kind of concerted effort, a monumental task that was properly organised and funded. I sought out answers from the established religions, taking in the grandeur of their buildings architecture and the cryptic nature of their holy books. The funny thing was the members of these religions had very little if none of an idea of what happened when you pass on. I thought then maybe the military was the only kind of organisation that could have conquered the task and maybe thought the issues arising with immortality caused them to hide the truth until you get there.
I realised that there was a real scientific way of imagining what happened in the afterlife and how you should face the problem.
Another reason for “Otherland” is it is not the usual micronation as we dont use physical land as a platform in its structure. We are the Other type where the nation is floating in the ether, it has physical servers that reside in many different countries but there is a constant, they all communicate real-time, updating and running algorithms constantly. We continually add new servers as fast as we can. The servers and also the clients constantly keep links to each other, waiting for the next set of commands and requests.
